For those of you who were directed to this blog and for some reason don’t know yet what it chronicles (is that even possible?), let me quickly get you up to date. In 2007 I got my last university degree and felt it was time for something out of the ordinary before I started a lifelong career. Something involving travel and preferrably situated in the US of A, a country that had been fascinating me ever since I was young and kept postponing to visit until I could get the whole experience. I explored my options and started looking for a job in a US company. Hours internet research and some hundred cover letters later, I found the most amazing position as a PR assistant at the L.A. Film Festival. And now I am readying myself for Hollywood..
As May 2 is approaching and my American Dream is about to start, I’m finding it increasingly difficult to say goodbye to my dear city of Antwerp. I’ve had a lot of ‘lasts’ over the past few days… last time strolling along the Nationalestraat, last dinner at the Bourla, last weekend partying at Capital, last cup of Jacqmotte coffee, … and every last seems to get harder. I am usually not the homesick type and all about the unknown adventure, but I’m going to miss the streets of Antwerp.

And then I am not even talking about the people…
All the premature missing aside, I have some pretty amazing replacements waiting for me: hanging out at Santa Monica’s Pier, driving across Sunset Blvd, having lunch at the Ivy, partying at Dim Mak, trying out every possible Starbucks coffee… Is it all bigger and better? I’ll definitely keep you posted…
p.s. You know who you are when I say I will miss you. The polaroids are ready to go up my wall!
